Here it is our CEO, Dr. Ettore Dordoni, interviewed during Geofluid 2021, who talks about the main applications of METAX equipment and the importance of R&D in the geotechnical sector.
As from Dr Ettore Dordoni words, METAX is specialized in the design and production of the following machines:
- HIGH PRESSURE MOTORPUMPS for jet grouting technique that inject grout admixture at a very high pressure, used as compendium of the drill to create the columns of soilcrete that will consolidate the soil for special constructions or other applications.
- HIGH PRESSURE MOTORPUMPS for TUNNELING AND BACKFILLING used to consolidate the tunnel built by the TBM – TUNNEL BORING MACHINE, up to 8-10 meters of diameter.
- MUD MOTORPUMPS highly powered, up to 1000 hp, used in oilfield to pump the drilling mud and afterwards to cement the hole created by the drill searching for oil or gas.
Concerning R&D, Dr Dordoni says that while same markets look for and need high technological and performing equipment some others still use low quality equipment and poor trained labor.
Nevertheless, it is crucial to invest in R&D and design highly performing equipment to satisfy customers and to compete on the market with respect of the company economic standards.
